Curing Nail Fungus
If you've suffered from nail fungus for a long time, you may have just about given up hopes of ever curing it. You might
be surprised to find though, that many people are curing nail
fungus at home, on their own, using some surprising inexpensive
products.
Curing nail fungus takes time, patience and persistance
unfortunately, and this can be one of the most frustrating parts about trying any nail fungus treatment. And to
make matters worse, not all treatments work the same for everyone.
If you've heard for instance, about people curing nail fungus
using vicks vapor rub, and tried it yourself only to find it did nothing for you, don't despair.
Everyone responds to treatments differently, and some nail fungus problems take a lot more time and effort to
get completly cured.
There are some tips and advice that might help
though.
First, you need to clean out any debris from under and around
the nails which have fungus. Next, you need to try and remove as much dead skin as you can from around the fungus
infected nails too. These two steps are important to do regularly when you're using topical treatments for curing
your nail fungus, because topical treatments must be able to penetrate down to where the fungus are living. If
there is too much debris and dead skin built up, the topical treatments will have a very difficult time reaching
the fungus and killing it.
Next, you need to be diligent about using your topical nail fungus treatment a minimum of once each day. Most methods for curing nail fungus
need to be used two to three times a day to work best, particularly if you have a moderate to severe case of
fungus.
Nail fungus is contagious, so if you don't treat it every
single day, the fungus can easily jump to other nails, or spread on other parts of the nails you're currently
treating.
Curing nail fungus can also take a lot of time. In some cases,
particularly if your fungus problems are pretty bad, you have to grow in a whole new healthy nail to replace the
fungus infected one. And for some people that can take almost a year to do.
So with all that said, here are some common, everday,
inexpensive items many people have used quite successfully for curing nail fungus:
- Listerine mouth wash. This is a very strong antiseptic product that
many people have reported great success with.
- Apple Cider Vinegar. Curing nail fungus with apple cider vinegar is
what hundreds of people have reported doing. Not only is the vingegar itself a strong antiseptic, but the apple
cider vinegar also helps soften and exfoliate your skin. So removing debris and dead skin from around the nails
infected with fungus becomes much easier to do when using apple cider vinegar.
- Tea Tree Oil is another popular and growing method for curing nail
fungus. Tea tree oil comes from a plant in Australia, and it's a source of very strong antiseptic and antifungal
properties naturally.
